2-Step Verification on Your Google Account Will be Required by 9/15/14
Who is required to use 2-Step Verification? All RMU full and part-time employees.
Why is the university doing this? 2-Step Verification is a feature that helps protect your account from threats like password compromise and identify theft. RMU is implementing this feature to help secure student and other RMU confidential data, and to protect you from having your account hacked.
A bonus of this process, if you use a smartphone, is that you will no longer need to manually change passwords on your smartphone apps once 2-Step Verification is enabled.
Assistance for the 2 Step Verification Process: To support you in the transition, representatives from the RMU Information Technology department will be available to help you enroll:
- Google Knowledge Bar in RoMo's Cafe, Wednesdays from 10:30am - 1:30pm through August 13th. RSVP HERE
- Call the Help Desk to help you enroll at X2211
- Enroll on your own. Visit: RMU's 2-Step Webpage
There are several ways that you can choose to receive this PIN code:
- Text message
- Free app for your mobile phone and tablet
- Voice call (office phone, mobile or other phone of your choice)
- Printed codes
Allow approximately 15 minutes for enrollment. Please have any mobile devices with you during enrollment.
